Fun at CHA part 1

The plane ride over to L.A. last Thursday night was anything but fun (I haven't experienced that much turbulance in a long time!) So, I guess the real FUN part of the flight was seeing all of our Hawaii Crafting Ohana on the same flight like Brian from Photocraft and Cheryl & Cliff. Walking the show is another FUN part, too, 'cuz I  keep seeing more friends like Lianne (Cute Stuff) and Roxanne (Stamps and Memories) to name just a few.

Besides looking at all the new stuff, I tried out a new look. So, do I pass as the "Crafty Chica"?LOL!!!

Then, I saw The Greeting Farm booth. Look at my cute button! I told them that they definetly have to make this into a stamp and suggested it would look cute if she were holding a stamp up in her right hand. OK, so if it happens, I'm going to make like the new Windows 7 commercials..."Yeah, TGF Stamp Girl...that was my idea!"

OK, now I'm really going loco 'cuz it's late and I have to go to bed because we have another FULL day of CHA! Thanks for bearing with me and hope you all have a GREAT week, too!

January's 2nd JOC show..did you miss it?

Last night was the premiere of the second JOC show for January 2010. I almost missed it because I just flew in from Dallas. We went Christmas shopping! That's right, we were picking all the ornaments and decorations for Christmas 2010. But on with the show...

So, the first guest last night was Mellie Enos, who showed us how to make a beautiful Bozu flower lei from ribbons.

Next, we introduced you to a new friend, Derrick Isono. He showed us how to do some cool things with the Prang washable markers that our BFC stores are now carrying. Many of you teachers may know Derrick through his art workshops.

Then, our last guest is a familiar face to those of you on the Windward side. Puna Earl is the Craft Coordinator at our Enchanted Lake BFC store. She showed us how to put together a quick cupcake box, perfect for Valentine's day!

Well, this week there might not be much quality blogging from me, I'm traveling again. We leave for the craft show of the year, CHA in Anaheim. Can't wait to see what's new and visit with all of our crafty friends!

Thank You for taking the time out of your busy day and visiting! I really appreciate all of your kind and encouraging words and inspiring feedback. Take care and hope the New Year is going great!

I made a lot of new friends!

I'm just coming back to Earth after last Saturday's JOC taping with a live audience of BF Craft Club members. I had so much FUN and I made so many new friends.

I want to Thank everyone who entered the contest, your comments and ideas will help us improve the show.I hope everyone who was able to come to our event had a good time!

I want to say a BIG Mahalo to our wonderful vendors who generoulsy donated so many gifts and door prizes. So, Thank you to Darice, The Mountain Idea, Stampenduos, Sizzix, Hero Arts, The Paper Company, Marvy Uchida and Lisa from PA. Two lucky ladies even won Texture Boutiques!Everyone received a stamp from Hero Arts and one from Stampenduous, an Uchida circle punch, a roll of Meriken double stick tape and a Sizzix die. And each person also won some goodies from the door prizes.

Darice provided foamie visors to decorate so that everyone had a "party hat".

Fridge served as a "stand-in" for the virtual neighbor island guest that we picked for each show. Jenna Inouye and Kris Palakiko will be getting their prizes in the mail soon.

Thank You again to all of our guests who shared their talents with  our members, including Mellie's comedy act. This was one Saturday to remember! (I will post more info on the show as we get closer to the air date.) A Big mahalo to Darling and Chris for all of their help checking everyone in and passing out the prizes!

Thank you for e-mailing and leaving such sweet comments. I really appreciate all of your friendships! Have a great day and Happy Crafting!

New Year! New Show for January!

Happy New Year, Everyone! Hope you were able to spend some time with family and friends celebrating, I know I sure did! Well, with a new year, we have some new friends to introduce to you on the "Joy of Crafting" Show.

On the first January show, the first guest is Sally Pestana. A lot of you know Sally from her funtastic Happy Scrappers' Jams. She is a very talented scrapper and shares this passion with so many.

In her segment, Sally shows us how to use circle punches to create a scallop border for cards and scrap pages.

Our next guest has become a wonderful friend to me, Lenny Andrews of the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii. Ben Franklin has had so much fun participating in the many events JCCH holds each year.

I learned how crafty Lenny was and asked her to share one of her recycling projects- Origami Star lei.

Our final two guests represent the new and the familiar. Mellie Enos is back with some lei making but we finally meet her constant side kick, Cora Panis. Together,  they show how to make and embellish a flat 2-straw lei.

Hope you enjoy the show and learn something new with our new friends! Thanks for visiting today and hope you have a Crafty New Year!
