So, what are you doing tomorrow?

So, excited! I got a sneak peek of a great new store opening tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 25 at 10 am! Wanna see?
Look for this sign a few doors down from Mapunapuna Ben Franklin Crafts
Celebrations is an exciting new store located a few doors down from Ben Franklin Crafts in Mapunapuna. They are a specialty store with unique gift wrapping ideas and lots of FUN and COOL novelties from Japan!

Do you work in an office, maybe even a small little cubicle? Well, why not add some whimsy to your day with these cute post-it note type pads!

Or how about these Fun eraser sets. Makes me extra careful so I don't have to erase!

I love the assortment of packages, clear bags and boxes galore! As a crafter, I'm always looking for nice boxes that I can embellish. Look at the double-wall side of these boxes, and the color is not your regular brown box, too!

There are really pretty clear boxes with colorful designs, perfect for all kinds of gifts!

See how they fold up!

I love all the Cherry Blossom designs on these bags. There's so many different sizes, too!

And you know how I love making FAST cards with stickers? Now, I can go more elegant with these pre-made mizuhiki pieces!

But my favorite stuff is for the...Bento Making!!! Yes, it's always about the food!LOL!Cute Bento and musubi boxes!

Lots of cutters and molds to make really cute lunches and snacks.

Cute ways to keep your food separated.

Lots of picks that you can even use for cardmaking and cupcakes!Yes, really makes me want to bring home lunch everyday!

There's really a lot more to see! So, come and check out Celebrations from 10 am - 6 pm, Mondays through Saturdays, starting tomorrow!

You don't have to wait for a holiday or birthday, make everyday a special occassion by giving someone a cute little RAK or wrapping up that handmade gift with some flair! At Celebrations...there's always a reason!

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you all have a great weekend!Well, you know where I'm planning to go!

Cawaii? K, what happened?

I don't have a craft project today, just something new I learned.

Did you know that in Japan the craze is to label cute things Cawaii instead of Kawaii? In fact, I hear that there are lots of people changing the spelling of other stuff with K into C...like Kevin would be Cevin. What do you think about that?

Well, today is Ash Wednesday, the start of Lent. I usually give something up like Coke or Rice but maybe I should give up asking so many questions!Hmmm....

Thanks for stopping by today and helping me ponder...Have a great week!

Using punches and a stapler, she makes a pencil topper and embellishes it with stamped images.Quick and Easy, Cute & FUN!

Lastly, I share a quick and easy Girl's Day Craft. I'll show you how to use punches to make a Kokeshi Doll lollipop cover.

Handmade Flower Friday - Kusudama style

I've always liked the look of these flowers but always thought that they were too hard to make. Guess what?! They're not as hard as I thought!

For folding purposes, I like using a paper thinner than cardstock, but most are not double-sided.
So, I made my own by gluing on a piece of origami paper to the back. You will need five squares per flower, I made mine 2" x 2".

The folding is actually really simple, see...

Fold in half diagonally, making a triangle.

Fold up each corner to the center point. Crease well.

Unfold, and then fold in half to the new crease line, both sides.

Now you have to "squash" fold or flatten the sides down, forming a "kite" shape.

Fold the tops down, showing the silver side of the paper. I like it this way because you will be able to see some of the silver later. If you are using one-sided paper , you may want to just tuck the top in.

Fold the sides in half again.

Form the petal by bringing the sides together. Tape together in the middle.

Trim the pointed tip. Now, let's put the flower together!

Place the petals next to each other and tape together along the sides. I plopped down a Pop Up Glue Dot and then placed my petals on top.

Almost done! I slightly curl the tips of the petals to shape the flower.

I punched out some leaves and place them at the bottom of the flower. Made a flower center with some resin flowers and bling. Glue dotted it to the center hole

These flowers will be great on favors or added to photo frames, anything 3-D!

After I made my first bunch of flowers for a Handmade flower exchange, Card Maker magazine came out with the instructions in the current issue, you can also refer to that for how-tos.

Try making some, they are SUPER EASY! and everyone will think you worked so hard them, well, unless, they read this blog! Secrets out!LOL!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you get to enjoy a long weekend! Happy Crafting!

How to Hatch A Chick

I usually have some leftover yarn from making graduation lei. So, I decided to make a scrappy yarn chick for Spring.

First you need a styrofoam egg, yes, in this case the egg comes first.

I wrapped some Meriken double stick tape around the egg. Just two stirps criss cross is enough.

Then, I just starting to wind the yarn around the egg.

Okay, almost done! I slipped the ends of the yarn under some stands and knotted it to secure.

Gathered some "wings" and eyes.

Made my own chicken feet by twisting up some chenille stem.Cut a beak from foamie and glued everything onto the yarn body.

And that's how you hatch a chick! Hmmm...maybe I'll give it to my Sweetie with a sign that says "From your favorite chick!"LOL!

Sometimes these silly crafts are the best thing for the end of the week. Thanks for stopping by today and Have a Great weekend!

Happy Hearts to You!

Being a part of the OC16 Ohana can be really fun and a lot of times very silly. Oceanic often asks the hosts to help with promos for the channel. So, we show up, ready to do what the script they sent says and then they throw in a surprise...Like the last time with the "O, O, O," rap!
So, before I went to CHA, I had to do a Valentine's day promo with a couple of the other hosts. Thank Goodness, they didn't use all the footage! Let's just say when they were filming my part...ummm, I almost tripped myself and fell down. Apparently, I don't know how to throw kisses! LOL!

Anyway, just thought I'd share our OC16 Valentine's Day message to all of you loyal viewers and friends.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a Great Week and A Really Sweet Valentine's Day next week!
