June's first Show!

Summer is here! And this new show offers some great ideas of how to get creative with your summer plans!

First, we welcome Mapunapuna's new Craft Coordinator, Chelsea, to the show. She gives us a sneak peek of this year's Summer Keiki Craft Program! The program is from Monday, June 13 to Friday, June 17  with two projects a day. Sign up by the day or for the whole week!

Next, we have our favorite local chef, Derek Kurisu from KTA Superstores. KTA is celebrating their 100th Anniversary this year, so awesome for such a great local company! Congratulations to the KTA OHANA!

Of, course, Derek never disappoints us! This time, we talk about graduation parties and all the supplies Ben Franklin carries. And when you have a party, you'll need some tasty food, like his Poke Sushi! It was so onolicious!

And then we bring Chelsea back because there's a lot going on in June. Mapunapuna will be having their craft party on Saturday, June 25 from 12 noon - 3 pm. Chelsea shares one of the projects from their Alice in Wonderland themed event!

April's second show!

Now, that you're done with your taxes, it's time to craft! And what better way than to try something new that one of our creative guests show us...

 

Our first guest, Bette Kalohi, is new to the show and has a great craft to share!

 

 

 Bette and her friends raise butterflies. Sometimes, those beautiful creatures do not make it. So, Bette takes their wings and makes jewelry from them to perpetuate their legacy. Her technique is similar to using pressed flowers.

Next, our favorite chef, Derek Kurisu of KTA Superstores is back with a great idea for graduates heading to college on the mainland. What better way to chase away the homesick blues than with a Spam Musubi! You need to see how he puts this local treat together!

We are so honored to have our last guest return to the show. Kuana Torres Kahele has "Making Lei 2" DVD coming out in May and we get a sneak preview of one of the new leis!

Kuana shows us how to make a beautiful shell lei using inexpensive shells. Kuana is also returning to our stores for free demonstrations starting on Thursday, May 12 at our Enchanted Lake store. Be sure to check with your favorite HouseMart Ben Franklin Crafts store to see when Kuana will be in your neighborhood.

Yes, It's December's first show!

We have fun guests for December with some amazing project ideas!

So happy we have Derek Kurisu from KTA Super stores on the Big Island back to share his fun culinary talent! He always supports local food companies. This time, he helps us with our holiday parties with some tofu salad!

And a poi, kalua pork and lomi lomi salmon "parfait".

Next, we have Coty Chandler from the Mapunapuna Bead Shoppe with a cute angel charm. These are perfect for hanging on your bag or to slip onto your planner! Makes a really great gift, too!

Lastly, I'll show how to make a basic slider card. You can use it to make a fun Christmas card this year!

February's Second Joy of Crafting Show

We have more Fun crafts on our second February Joy of Crafting Show! We start the show with our Big Island friend, Derek Kurisu!

February's first Joy of Crafting Show

Wow! It's already February! The weather sure has been making me feel like it's winter time! And the rain has been great for staying home and crafting. Well, on this show we have some very fun crafts that will surely brighten your day!

The show opens with two great guys! Milton Fujii, our show's Executive Producer teaches our special guest, Derek Kurisu of Big Island's KTA Super Stores and "Living in Paradise" TV show, how to make a Hearty Clay Rose!

Lastly, I get you back to basics with a simple origami box. It's perfect for using your scrapbook paper stash and it's just the right size for many gifts.
