Cawaii? K, what happened?

I don't have a craft project today, just something new I learned.

Did you know that in Japan the craze is to label cute things Cawaii instead of Kawaii? In fact, I hear that there are lots of people changing the spelling of other stuff with K into Kevin would be Cevin. What do you think about that?

Well, today is Ash Wednesday, the start of Lent. I usually give something up like Coke or Rice but maybe I should give up asking so many questions!Hmmm....

Thanks for stopping by today and helping me ponder...Have a great week!

  1. i like your post title, it cracks me up. changing k to c looks a bit weird to me. i almost didn't understand what cawaii was til i read the rest of your post.

  2. How interesting. Then my name would be Caren. Hee-hee. Have a crafty day!

  3. I think that is pretty neat! It had to be Japan to think of it.. LOL!

  4. Hi, Joy san!

    This magazine is typical example.

Most of Japanese feel 'C' is cuter than 'K'.
    I don't know why.

By the way, are you ready for opening new shop?
    Is Brandon working well?

    See you.

  5. Hey Joy! I kommented on your FB post and I'll say it again - I think its Krazy! It'll always be Kawaii for me! :-)

  6. leave it to the japanese to do something different. lol.

  7. that's too different...and i'm too old!
